UPDATED: Weather Advisories Issued For CSRA Counties
The National Weather Service has issued several weather advisories ahead of storm systems making their way toward the CSRA.
Potentially Severe Weather Headed To CSRA On Monday Afternoon
WJBF News Channel 6’s George Myers has the latest weather update that affects the Georgia and South Carolina counties of the CSRA. Included in this update is the possibility of severe weather haeaded to the CSRA on Monday afternoon. The system headed our way has already spawnded severe stroms in Mississippi and Alabama. Storms, Possible Tornadoes, Rumble Through South; 1 Killed
Severe thunderstorms that rumbled across the Southeast killed one person, knocked out power to thousands in Alabama and Georgia and spawned several possible tornadoes. The Jones County coroner says a 46-year-old woman in Laurel, Miss., was killed Sunday when a tree fell on her while she was standing outside her home. Another person in the county was injured.

1 Person Dead In Georgia As Storm Moves Through
At least one person has been killed in Georgia as a severe storm system moves across the state. Atlanta Fire Rescue Department spokesman Capt. Bill May says one person was killed Monday when a tree fell on a car in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood. He didn’t know the victim’s name or age.

Storm Damage Reported In Edgefield County, Tornado Warnings Issued
WJBF News Channel 6 has received reports of large trees being downed in Edgefield County. We have also received reports of large hail in Johnston, South Carolina. We are awaiting word on if there is any damage in Saluda County. Let us know if you see or receive storm damage. Strong weather will continue to move through the CSRA Friday night, and should clear up by Saturday morning.
Several CSRA Counties Under Tornado Watch
According to the National Weather Service and the Storm Prediction Center, several counties in the CSRA are under a Tornado Watch until 1:00 a.m.

USC-Aiken Baseball Game Rained Out
Due to inclement weather in the Columbus area, USC Aiken’s scheduled three-game series with Columbus State has been moved to a Sunday-Monday series.
Georgia Southern-Elon Game Rained Out
Georgia Southern Baseball and Elon made it to the top of the fourth inning before rain forced Saturday’s game two of the series to get postponed.

South Carolina-Kentucky Baseball Game Postponed
The South Carolina-Kentucky baseball game scheduled for Friday evening has been postponed
due to unplayable field conditions at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
Augusta State Athletics Alters Weekend Schedule
Due to the threat of inclement weather, Saturday’s regularly scheduled baseball contest between Augusta State and Georgia Southwestern has been postponed.
USC-Aiken Pacers and Polo Event Postponed Until Sunday
The USC Aiken athletic department announced on Friday afternoon that due to the threat of continued inclement weather on Saturday in the Aiken area, Pacers and Polo has been postponed one day to Sunday, March 29.
