USC Warns of Fundraising Scams
Officials at the University of South Carolina are warning residents near the Columbia campus of a possible fundraising scam. The university has gotten several calls from the public, reporting that college-aged people claiming to be students are going door-to-door to raise money.

A 70-year-old Graniteville woman is accused of stealing from a victim of the Graniteville train accident. Aiken County Investigators say Minni Lee Jeff stole money from a victim’s settlement check. Complaint Filed Against NFL Football Player
A complaint has been filed inside a California civil court against Baltimore Ravens cornerback Anwar Phillips. In the complaint, both Phillips and a pastor, who has yet to be named, are accused of of preying on San Diego homeowners facing foreclosure. An attorney representing the homeowners say the pair organized a scheme involving the transfer of home titles to so-called rescuers, who then took out a new mortgage and pocketed the equity.
