Wachovia Bank Robbed In Augusta

WJBF News Channel 6 has confirmed that the Wachovia Bank, on Wheeler Road has been robbed. Investigators are at the scene and there is a perimeter search for the suspect. We will have more on this developing story as it becomes available.

North Augusta Dollar General Store Robbery Suspect Sought

According to Lt. Tim Pearson, the North Augusta Department of Public Safety is asking for help from the public to identify a robbery suspect. The robbery happened late Sunday evening, November 1st, at the Dollar General store, located at 1127 Knox avenue, in North Augusta.

Mark McClain Executed, Victim’s Co-Worker Remembers Tragic Night

At 7:24 p.m., Tuesday evening…Mark McClain was pronounced dead after being executed by lethal injection…14 years after he shot and killed Kevin Brown inside a Domino’s Pizza on Washington Road…12 years after he was found guilty of that crime, and sentenced to die. Kevin Brown’s father died shortly after the murder, but those who are still around, and knew Kevin, they say it’s a somber day, like John Eckburg, a friend and former co-worker of Kevin’s. WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop has more.

UPDATED: Mark McClain Executed For 1994 Killing Of Augusta Domino’s Pizza Manager

A man convicted of murdering an Augusta Domino’s Pizza store manager during a robbery, 15 years ago, is scheduled to be executed Tuesday night. Mark Howard McClain is scheduled to be executed at 7 p.m. at the state prison in Jackson. UPDATE: Mark McClain was pronounced dead at 7:24 p.m., Tuesday night.

Mark McClain’s Attorney Asks U.S. Supreme Court To Spare His Life

The lawyer for an Augusta man set to become the state’s 23rd inmate to be executed has petitioned the Georgia Supreme Court and U.S. Supreme Court to spare his client’s life…Mark McClain is scheduled to die, Tuesday night, at 7:00 p.m. McClain’s attorney, on monday, asked the U.S. Supreme Court to order a lower court review of the case…

Columbia County Circle K Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

According to Capt. Steve Morris, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred on September 23rd, at the Circle K located at 457 Old Evans Road, in Martinez. The suspect is identified as 19-year-old Brandon Dion Jones.

Augusta Ramada Limited Robbery Suspects Sought

Richmond County authorities are looking for two suspects that robbed the Ramada Limited, Tuesday night. The robbery hapenned just before 10:00 p.m., off the 2100 block of Gordon Highway.

Teens Arrested For Robbing Hephzibah Pizza Delivery Woman

Two teenagers are in jail, accused of robbing a pizza delivery woman. Authorities say the 29-year-old woman arrived at a home on Cross Creek Road, in Hephzibah, just before midnight, Tuesday night, but the house was deserted. Deputies say the teens broke into the house and were waiting for the pizza delivery woman.

In Richmond County, investigators need help catching 3 suspects who drove off in the car that is pictured. They say 2 suspects robbed the Check Exchange, on Wrightsboro Road, earlier this month.

UPDATED: Columbia County Gold Shop Robbery Suspects Sought

Columbia County Sheriff’s Office investigators are searching for suspects who were part of an armed robbery Thursday afternoon. Authorities were called to the Gold Shop on the 3800 block of Washington Road, after men armed with guns robbed the store around 2:30 p.m. UPDATE: We now have a surveillance image of the suspects

Aiken Kangaroo Express Robbery Suspect Sought

According to Sgt. Aaron Dowdy, the Aiken Department of Public Safety (ADPS) is looking for a suspect in a Tuesday morning robbery in Aiken. Sgt. Dowdy says, Tuesday morning, at about 05:45 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at the Kangaroo Express at the intersection of Richland Avenue West at University Parkway (3540 Richland Avenue West).

North Augusta Check Cashing Business Robbed, Suspects Sought

The North Augusta Department of Public Safety (NADPS) is looking for two robbery suspects. According to NADPS, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Tuesday morning, they received an emergency 911 call from the Payday Your Way, located at 507 Georgia Avenue, reporting they had just been robbed at gunpoint by two unidentified black males.

Check Cashing Store Robbed On Wrightsboro Road

Authorities in Richmond County are investigating an early Thursday morning robbery. Someone held up a check cashing store around 8:00 a.m., just as the business was opening for the day. The store is located on the 3200 block of Wrightsboro Road.
