The GBI is investigating after a shooting in downtown Augusta following a domestic dispute. Terry Ramsey, 41, was shot and killed by Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies during a domestic situation on Metcalf Street, in downtown Augusta. UPDATE: The two deputies involved in the shooting have been identified as Deputy Chadwick Plueger and Deputy Sylvester Rosier.

According to Lt. Scott Peebles, Tuesday morning, at about 8:44 a.m., the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to a deceased person call on the 1900 block of Kissingbower Road. Upon arrival, officers located the body of 56-year-old Henry Lee Smith deceased in the backyard of the residence.

According to Richmond County Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen, Earl Clark, 53, died Friday night in an accident on Mike Padgett Highway.

WJBF News Channel 6 has received reports that a body has been found. We have been told that the body has been found on Riverfront Drive, near the boathouse. We have a crew en route, and will have more information as it becomes available. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating this discovery as a homicide.

WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that there has been a shooting in south Richmond County, on Neely Road. That is near the Burke County line. Investigators are on scene, as well as the Richmond County Coroner’s Office. UPDATE: We have now learned that one person has been arrested. We have a crew on the scene, and we will provide more information as it becomes available. UPDATE: We have received information that a woman has died in the shooting. She is identified as 22-year-old Patricia Troglen. UPDATE: Troglen’s 14-year-old stepbrother, Eric Lee Phillips Whitehead, has been arrested in the murder, and charged with an adult.

At least 2 people have been taken to the hospital after a 3-vehicle accident on Mike Padgett Highway that happened Wednesday night. UPDATE: One person involved in the crash has been confirmed to have died.

A man has been arrested in Sylvania, Georgia in connection to a Tuesday night deadly hit and run in Richmond County. The man is identified as 62-year-old Willie David Bragg, Jr.

A body has been discovered in the Augusta Canal. Richmond County Sheriff’s Office investigators were called out Wednesday morning to the Enterprise Mill, just off of the 15th Street bridge, near Greene Street. The body has been indentified as 50-year-old Herman Johnson.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded shortly before midnight, Friday night, to 124 Fox Trace Drive (Fox Trace Apartments) in reference to a shooting that had just occurred. Upon officers’ arrival, they located the victim, a Hispanic male, inside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was pronounced deceased by Richmond County Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen, a few minutes after midnight, on Saturday July 4th.

A former Richmond County sheriff’s deputy found not guilty of child molestation less than three weeks ago has been killed in an automobile accident. Richmond County Deputy Coroner Johnny McDonald said 49-year-old Lindon Haworth Jr.‘s car drifted into the left hand lane and struck the side of another vehicle Sunday.

A local family is mourning the loss of their 3-year-old son. Carson Shipley drowned on Wednesday in a pool at a family friend’s house on the 3000 block of Storey Drive, in Augusta. The Shipley family is no stranger to strife, as Carson’s twin brother, Aiden, suffers from Diamond Black Fan Anemia, a rare disorder with only 35 cases known worldwide.

A judge has denied bond for 52-year-old Joshua Ferguson of Augusta, who is accused of stabbing two men to death.

Richmond County investigators are working a homicide. The incident happened on the 2900 block of Edison Drive, off Barton Chapel Road, around 5:30 a.m., Friday morning. According to Richmond County Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen, the victim has been identified as Chad Shirey, 25, of the 2900 block of Edison Drive. We have the latest in the investigation of a double murder that occurred Wednesday, in south Augusta. The bodies of 27-year-old Rodney Antrone Crane and 42-year-old Jesse Albert Haynes were found Wednesday morning at the Glenwood II Apartment Complex, on Lumpkin Road. Each had been stabbed at least once. One man, Joshua Bernard Ferguson, 52, is being questioned in the case. He was taken into custody after a standoff with police. A car wreck that claimed a 17-year-old’s life, Saturday morning. Richmond County Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen says a Ford Explorer was heading north on Center West Parkway, Saturday morning, just before 5:00 a.m., when it hit the median and rolled over.
