According to Richmond County Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen, a man was killed as he walked along the 3300 block of Washington Road, in Augusta, on Saturday night.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded shortly before midnight, Friday night, to 124 Fox Trace Drive (Fox Trace Apartments) in reference to a shooting that had just occurred. Upon officers’ arrival, they located the victim, a Hispanic male, inside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was pronounced deceased by Richmond County Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen, a few minutes after midnight, on Saturday July 4th.
