Dads In Action, a local group that works in Richmond County schools, deliver meals to more than a dozen families in the CSRA. The Garden City Rescue Mission also received the Turkey meals. WJBF News Channel 6’s Renita Crawford has the story.

Deputy Ronnie Collins was fired from the Augusta Richmond County Sheriff’s Office for not being “truthful” during the interview process. That’s according to Sheriff Ronnie Strength. Deputy Collins was hired from the Richmond County Board of Education Police in April. Collins was working as an officer at Spirit Creek Middle School when an email to the Board of Education alleged that he and others had inappropriate relations on school grounds. Those allegations remain under investigation.

Richard Roundtree is a prominent, Richmond County violent crimes detective who was recently stripped of his rank. We told you earlier this week Sergeant Richard Roundtree was demoted after an investigation revealed he mishandled some case files. Investigator Richard Roundtree says he wanted to talk because he felt the entire story had not been told. He says he has an explanation for the events that led to his demotion and reassignment in the sheriff’s office. He says he wants the public to understand he is a dedicated officer and will remain at the sheriff’s office. WJBF-TV News Channel 6’s Renita Crawford speaks exclusively with Roundtree.
