Michael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe will attend the pop superstar’s memorial service. Former Jackson business associate Marc Schaffel said on ABC’s “Good Morning America” that Rowe was confirmed for VIP seats. Rowe is the mother of Jackson’s two oldest children.

Michael Jackson’s father said Monday his family is waiting for results of a private autopsy before deciding on funeral arrangements. But, the Jackson family did go to court Monday, taking the first steps toward managing Michael Jackson’s estate, and taking care of his three children. Selma, Alabama Anniversary Observed

A moment in history was observed, Sunday, in Alabama. More than 1,000 people took part in recreating the civil rights march in Selma, that happened 44 years ago.

James Brown Toy Giveaway Held Monday

It’s a holiday tradition here in the CSRA: the annual James Brown Toy Giveaway. Monday, people came out to this year’s event at the Imperial Theatre, on Broad Street.

Funeral For Cherry Tree Crossing Shooting Victim Held Monday

Hundreds turned out to remember Justin Elmore, Monday…an Augusta man shot and killed by police. The shooting led to several nights of unrest in the neighborhood it happened in. Monday morning, people packed into Macedonia Baptist Church. The controversial shooting attracted the attention of Reverend Al Sharpton, the president of the National Action Network. Authorities say Elmore had drugs and weapons in his vehicle when he attempted to run from police, December 7th, in the Cherry Tree Crossing housing development. The Sheriff says Elmore tried to run over the deputies and that’s when they fired. WJBF News Channel 6’s Renita Crawford has the story.
