State Senator Ed Tarver (D – Augusta) announced his resignation from the Georgia State Senate, effective 12 noon on November 9. On November 6, the full United States Senate confirmed Sen. Tarver to become the next United States Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia.

Assistant SC Attorney General Resigns After Being Caught With Stripper
A former SC state lawmaker resigns from the state prosecutors office! Authorities say 66-year-old Roland Corning was stopped Monday, after officers spotted his car in an area known for sex! Police say he was with a stripper, and they found Viagra, and sex toys…It happened near the Elmwood Cemetery, in downtown Columbia. Governor Mark Sanford is issued a statement on Wednesday regarding the call for his resignation, Wednesday, from Lt. Governor Andre Bauer. Communications director Frank Adams says Bauer at a Wednesday news conference will call on Sanford to leave office. Savannah Police Chief Resigns
After less than three years on the job, Savannah Chatham Metro Police Chief Michael Berkow submitted his resignation on Friday. Berkow says leaving is difficult, but he has missed three years of his son’s live, and a new opportunity will bring the two closer together. Berkow will be based in California, as President and Chief Operating Officer of a new division of a company called Altegrity, a large company that consults on international policing efforts. Berkow says he was approached about this position in April. Berkow says he will remain in Savannah through mid-October.
