Harrisburg Group Calls For Problem Property Law
About two dozen members of the Concerned Citizens of Harrisburg rallied at the Municipal Building calling on Commissioners to form a panel to get to work on a nuisance property ordinance. Commissioners did not act on that request, but will look into it. WJBF News Channel 6’s George Eskola has the story.

The Congressman now known for making an outburst during President Obama’s Primetime Healthcare Speech was in Aiken, this weekend. The Beard Bandwagon: Tuesday, a rally was held at Augusta’s Miss Justice statue to show that Augusta Commissioner Betty Beard has support from the community. Supporters are coming out to back Augusta Commissioner Betty Beard. Beard is being blasted for her role in a donation that paid for a city worker gastric bypass surgery. The Southern Christian Leadership Conference is planning a rally for 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon at the Augusta Municipal Building to support Beard.

Black Clergy Lead Rally Against Gay Marriage In Nation’s Capital
Black clergy have led a rally against gay marriage in the nation’s capital. The Washington, D.C., city council voted unanimously this month to recognize same-sex marriages performed in states where they’re legal. Before becoming law, the legislation requires a final council vote next week and then must be reviewed by Congress, which has final say over the city’s laws.
