Two former South Carolina women’s basketball players have been sentenced to 18 months probation after pleading guilty to fraud and drug charges.

A court official says former NFL quarterback Michael Vick plans to enter a plea next week on state dogfighting charges in Virginia.

The son of a Democratic Tennessee state lawmaker charged with hacking the e-mail account of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has pleaded not guilty. David Kernell, 20, of Knoxville, entered the plea in federal court in Knoxville on Wednesday. His father is longtime state Rep. Mike Kernell of Memphis.
