Golf Classic Honors Aiken County Officer
it was a chance to remember someone special…and support a special event. Lieutenant Michael Frank was the face of the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office. Last November, he was killed in a car accident. Monday, a group of people got together to celebrate his life, while continuing his support for a local organization. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe reports.

Body, “Suspicious Package” Found Near North Augusta Playground
A body and a “suspicious package” were found outside the North Augusta Community Center Monday morning. Part of Buena Vista Avenue was shut down for three hours, while investigators and SLED agents worked to find out what happened, and what was inside that package. SC Senators Spark Debate on Banning Cigarette Lighters
Some South Carolina lawmakers are sparking debate with a new bill that would ban “toy-like” novelty lighters. They claim the lighters are dangerous because they encourage children to play with fire. Two Historic North Augusta Landmarks Auctioned Off
Last year, they were booked solid for the Masters. This year, they were being auctioned off to the highest bidder. Lookaway Hall and its neighbor Rosemary Hall have served as landmarks in North Augusta for more than 100 years, but their rich history was not enough to pay the bills. Pacer Baseball Rolls over St. Andrews
Gary Asbill tripled, stole a game-high two bases and finished the game with two hits to help lead USC Aiken to a dominating 15-2 victory over St. Andrews on Wednesday evening in non-conference baseball action at Roberto Hernandez Stadium.

Franklin’s Homer Leads Pacers Past Anderson
Alex Franklin broke open a tie ball game with a three-run home run to left field in the bottom of the sixth inning to lead USC Aiken to a 12-9 victory over Anderson on Thursday evening at Roberto Hernandez Stadium.

North Augusta Man Sought In Domestic Dispute
According to Lt. Troy Elwell, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) is looking for a man, who on November 29th, kicked in the door to his girlfriends residence, pointed a shotgun at her, then turned and fired two rounds into her vehicle that was parked in front of the residence. The victim retrieved a handgun and fired several rounds at the subject, who then fled the scene.

Aiken County Weekend Roundup Nets 30 Arrests
According to Lt. Michael Frank, as a result of a two-month undercover drug investigation, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with other local and state agencies, arrested 30 people, early Friday, at a home at 155 Kip Road, in North Augusta, South Carolina.

Gunman Robs North Augusta Convenience Store
According to Lt. Michael Franks, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Saturday night at Quickie Jacks, 829 Edgefield Road, in North Augusta.
