Heavy rain causes flooding in CSRA
Heavy rains have produced some flooding in places around the C.S.R.A. There are reports of flooded basements in some downtown Augusta buildings. And some neighborhoods in Columbia and Aiken counties are also reporting flooding in streets and yards.

Fire fighters battle North Augusta blaze
Fire fighters battled a major house fire in North Augusta this morning. The blaze broke out inside a house in the 1800 block of Oriole Avenue just before 9:00 Friday morning. Firefighters called for mutual aid from neighboring fire departments for help in fighting the fire.

SC Absentee Voting Nearly Doubles 2004 Numbers
South Carolina absentee voters have nearly doubled turnout from 2004 levels.State Election Commission data released Monday shows more than 302,000 people have already voted in South Carolina. In 2004, the state recorded about 161,000 absentee votes.

Cutting Lines at S.C. DMV Offices
South Carolina lawmakers are once again trying to cut the budget, and to do that, they’re looking at cutting lines at the DMV. It’s still in the works, but soon there may be no more Saturday hours at South Carolina DMV’s. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe has the story.

Man Molested By Former North Augusta Planning Commission Chairman Speaks Out
A former Aiken County school administrator was arrested Tuesday, on sex crime charges dating back to the 1970’s. A man who says he was molested by Stephen Coke Eubanks, 67, spoke to us Tuesday about another case involving a convicted child molester from the same time period. He is considering bringing a lawsuit against the former North Augusta Planning Commission chairman, Edward Meloan. Meloan was convicted, last October, of molesting Greg Lass, and others, when they were boys back in the 70’s.
