The state Board of Education has approved unanimously a plan to toss out scores for standardized tests at four elementary schools where cheating was discovered.

The head of the state’s Senate education committee wants to create a law that would levy criminal charges against educators who change answers on standardized tests.

The South Carolina Department of Education today released 2008 results under the federal No Child Left Behind Act for high schools, districts and the state as a whole.  High school ratings had been delayed because of computational errors, and district and state ratings were delayed as well because high school data were key factors in the larger groups.
