Area School Wants Access To Students’ Social Networking
Does a school have a right to demand access to your child’s Facebook or Myspace account? That’s the question some local parents are asking. School leaders at Victory Christian School say it’s all about making sure the students adhere to the school policies and they claim it’s not an invasion of privacy. Judge Tentatively Acquits Woman In MySpace Suicide Case
A Los Angeles federal judge has tentatively thrown out the convictions of a Missouri mother for her role in a MySpace hoax directed at a 13-year-old neighbor girl who ended up committing suicide.

UPDATED: Former SC Election Leader Apologizes For Gorilla Comment About First Lady
A former South Carolina election official has apologized for his Internet posting that compared a gorilla to an ancestor of first lady Michelle Obama. Former state Election Commission Chairman Rusty DePass read a statement during an NAACP news conference in Columbia Wednesday saying his comments were offensive and foolish. Gwinnett County authorities have charged a 26-year-old man with using the social networking site MySpace to lure a teenager to a vacant home and molest him.

Prosecutors Suggest 3-Years For MySpace Hoax Mom
Prosecutors want a judge in Los Angeles to come down hard on a Missouri mom who was involved in a MySpace hoax that ended up with a 13-year-old neighbor committing suicide. They say Lori Drew should serve the maximum three years in prison for her role in the ruse that led to the death of Megan Meier, who was led to believe she was being dumped by a boy she befriended online.
