Prosecutor To Pursue Death Penalty In Brunswick, GA Slayings

A prosecutor says he will seek the death penalty for a 22-year-old man charged with killing his father and 7 others inside the family’s mobile home in coastal Georgia. A Glynn County grand jury indicted Guy Heinze Jr. on Monday on eight counts of murder.

Body In Yale Building Identified As Missing Grad Student

Connecticut’s chief medical examiner says the body found hidden behind a wall in a Yale University research building is that of a missing graduate student. Dr. Wayne Carver says 24-year-old Annie Le’s death is a homicide. He says he’s temporarily withholding the cause of death “in order to facilitate the investigation.“

Murder Suspect Sought In Swainsboro

The search is on for a killer in Swainsboro, Georgia. The body of 57-year old Daisy Pearl Brown was found at her home on the 1700 block of Highway 80 in east Swainsboro. While the exact cause of death is not yet known, investigators are treating this as a homicide.

UPDATED: Identification Made On Body Found In Augusta

WJBF News Channel 6 has received reports that a body has been found. We have been told that the body has been found on Riverfront Drive, near the boathouse. We have a crew en route, and will have more information as it becomes available. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating this discovery as a homicide.

UPDATED: Deadly Shooting In Aiken Ruled A Homicide

According to Lt. David Turno, investigators from the Aiken Department of Public Safety are looking for any information about a deadly shooting that occurred around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday evening. UPDATE: According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, the victim of a shooting in Aiken, has been identified as 30-year-old Donald M. McCalla, Jr. of Princess Lane, in Aiken.

Columbia County Mother Kills Son then Herself in Apparent Murder-Suicide

Columbia County investigators are looking into an apparent murder-suicide. Investigators say a mother shot and killed her son before turning the gun on herself. Gwinnett County Police say four people have been shot to death at a home in Gwinnett County, and a man being sought in the shootings was arrested when he showed up at the scene.

Hephzibah Home Invasion Turns Deadly

One man is behind bars after Richmond County Investigators say he’s a prime suspect in a home invasion turned deadly. It all happened Wednesday night along the 2200 block of Plantation Road, in South Augusta. WJBF News Channel 6’s Fraendy Clervaud has more.

UPDATED: Third Suspect Arrested In T&S Drive Murder In Aiken County

Aiken County Investigators are searching for two men. They say Maurice Council and Akia Jordan shot and killed a teenager at T&S Mobile Home Park Wednesday night. It’s the third murder there in the last two years. Neighbors want more of a police presence in the area, but police say without community cooperation, everyone is running out of options. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe has more. UPDATE: Sammy Leon Smith, 33, has now been arrested in connection to the death of 16-year-old James Collins.
