UPDATED: Suspect Arrested In Augusta 2nd Avenue Murder

According to Lt. Scott Peebles, at about 5:35 p.m., nvestigators from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office took 19-year-old Terrance Douglas Morgan into custody and charged him with the Murder of Antonio Perez Johnson, earlier Thursday.

Augusta Man Killed in Afternoon Shooting

A shooting on 2nd Avenue in Augusta has left one man dead. Investigators tell us 20-year-old Antonio Perez Johnson, of the 2000 bock of Central Avenue, was shot once in the chest around 2:15 this afternoon. He died in the MCG Emergency Room about 25 minutes later. Investigators are looking for 19-year-old Darrion Antwonn Williams for questioning.

Murder Suspect Turns Himself In

Richmond County investigators finally have a murder suspect in custody.16-year old Cornelius Moore turned himself in Monday morning. He was wanted in the shooting death of 23-year-old Jezreel Hammond.

Day Two in Search for Murder Suspect

The WJBF News Channel 6 Crime Tracker covers Day 2 of a massive manhunt for a teenage murder suspect. UPDATED: Richmond County Home Invasion Murder Suspect Sought

Richmond County investgators are still looking for a murder suspect. Investigators spent the entire day looking for a teenager accused of killing a man during a home invasion, last week. Tuesday, 16-year-old Ian Bonner was arrested in connection to the murder, on the 2800 block of Royal Street. WJBF News Channel 6’s Fraendy Clervaud has the latest on the manhunt.

UPDATED: Richmond County Manhunt Continues, One Teen Arrested

A suspect being sought for last week’s deadly home invasion, in which 23-year-old Jezreel Hammond, was killed. A suspect in that case was spotted in a neighborhood, Tuesday morning, near Pendleton King Park. A manhunt was launched on the 2000 block of Shirley Avenue…the perimeter was later expanded to an Augusta housing project…Cherry Tree Crossing. Ashley Smith Takes Stand In Brian Nichols Trial

The Brian Nichols murder trial took a dramatic twist, Monday, when hostage, Ashley Smith, took the stand. The Augusta native is credited with helping convince Nichols to turn himself in to authorities.

Father: Son Didn’t Kill High School Football Captain

The father of a teenager accused of fatally shooting a Florida high school football player says his son is innocent and charges have prompted threats against his family. After his son’s first court appearance Saturday, Willie Felton, Sr. told the ‘Palm Beach Post’ that his son came home two hours before the slaying of Pahokee High School captain Norman “Pooh” Griffith.

UPDATED: Investigation Continues Into Deadly Grovetown Home Invasion

The search is on for suspects in a Columbia County murder. Grovetown investigators say 38-year-old Ricky Gibson was killed during a home invasion. It happened at his home on Williams Street, in Grovetown, overnight Tuesday. That’s just off Wrightsboro Road. Investigators spent hours at the mobile home searching for clues. WJBF-TV News Channel 6’s Fraendy Clervaud spoke with a Gibson’s cousin, Wednesday, and she says he’ll be missed.

North Augusta Man Arrested In Brother’s Murder

According to Lt. Tim Pearson, of the North Augusta Department of Public Safety (NADPS), at 7:04 p.m., Monday, September 22nd, NADPS officers responded to 211 East Buena Vista Avenue, in North Augusta, regarding a possible death. Upon arrival, officers found David P. Hett unresponsive. Aiken County EMS and Aiken County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene, at which time the victim was pronounced dead.
