UPDATED: Missing Augusta Woman, Husband Found Dead In Alabama

Investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office tell WJBF News Channel 6 that a woman, who was last seen on Saturday, has been found dead in Alabama. The bodies of Jessica Lynn Murphy, 30, and her estranged husband, 37-year-old Scott Dean “Scottie” Murphy, were reportedly found at a rest stop near Evergreen, Alabama.

According to Lt. Scott Peebles, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disappearance of 30-year-old Jessica Lynn Murphy, of Tubman Street, in Augusta.

Dump Truck Driver Killed In Traffic Accident

According to Richmond County Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen, a dump truck driver delivering asphalt to a construction site on the 4200 block of Mike Padgett Highway was killed when he was hit as he got out of the truck, early Thursday morning. The victim is identified as William Danes, of the 1000 block of Highway 36 East, in Jackson Georgia.

Drug Enforcement Agents Shut Down Meth Houses

State and local authorities shut down two meth labs operating next door to each other in Augusta.

Meth Lab Busted In South Augusta

Authorities have arrested two women at a suspected Meth lab in South Augusta along Wylie Drive and Mike Padgett Highway. A joint investigation by the GBI, DEA, FBI and Richmond County Sheriff’s Office was prompted by an informant’s tip. Authorities are waiting for a Haz-Mat team from Atlanta to analyze the chemicals found inside the home.
