Aiken County came out to honor its fallen heroes, on Monday. There were three special guests who took part in the ceremony: a band of bothers…actual ones, all Marines. For almost two decades now, St. Simons Island residents have had their own unique Memorial Day observance called Taps at Twilight. The annual event at the island’s Neptune Park, now in its 18th year, is a time for families and friends to gather and reflect on sacrifices made by members of the nation’s military service.
