UPDATED: Third Suspect Arrested In T&S Drive Murder In Aiken County

Aiken County Investigators are searching for two men. They say Maurice Council and Akia Jordan shot and killed a teenager at T&S Mobile Home Park Wednesday night. It’s the third murder there in the last two years. Neighbors want more of a police presence in the area, but police say without community cooperation, everyone is running out of options. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe has more. UPDATE: Sammy Leon Smith, 33, has now been arrested in connection to the death of 16-year-old James Collins.

North Augusta Boy Who Swallowed Toy Car To Be On National TV

An incident has landed a local family on a national television show. A North Augusta boy, 3-year-old Evan Waldhauer, swallowed a toy race car, and lived to tell about it. Murder Suspect In Custody In Blackville, SC

One person is in custody following a shooting in Blackville, South Carolina. Demetrius Smalls is charged with murder in the death of Terrance Mayes. Mayes brother, Zantrell, was also shot, and is currently at MCG.

Murder Suspect Sought In Augusta

WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that a man was shot and killed Monday night at Salem Arms Apartments. Darryl Walden had been shot in the chest and died from his injuries Tuesday morning.

Aiken County Murder Suspect Arrested

According to Capt. Troy Elwell, Akia Jordan, 17, of Ridgecrest Road, in Aiken, surrendered to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday. Jordan has been charged with Murder, Assault and Battery with Intent to Kill, Simple Assault and Battery and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime. the charges stem from the shooting death of 16-year-old James Collins on T&S Drive, last week.

Suspects Sought In Edgefield Shooting

Edgefield County officers are looking for 2 people in connection with a late night shooting. It happened Saturday night at the Edgewood Apartments, on W.A. Reel Drive. That’s just behind the Edgefield Hospital. Officers say a man was going into his apartment, when he was approached by two men wearing ski masks.

According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, a 9-year-old Aiken girl was pronounced dead at Medical College of Georgia on Friday night, August 7, 2009.

Woman Killed In Aiken Motorcycle Crash

According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, 35-year-old Christie Valenzuela, of Aiken, SC was pronounced dead at the Medical College of Georgia, on Friday afternoon, at 3:55 p.m. Mrs. Valenzuela was the passenger on a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by her husband, 40-year-old Michael Valenzuela, also of Aiken.

WJBF News Channel 6 has received reports of a shooting at River Glen Apartments. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office arrested Yearby Foston Friday evening on the 1400 block of Channing Court.

At least 2 people have been taken to the hospital after a 3-vehicle accident on Mike Padgett Highway that happened Wednesday night. UPDATE: One person involved in the crash has been confirmed to have died.

UPDATED: Three Vehicle Accident Kills Two In North Augusta

A Sunday morning accident claims two lives. It happened along Highway 1, near the Hippodrome in North Augusta, just after 9 a.m. Investigators believe the driver of a Cadillac was traveling at a high rate of speed in the wrong lane, heading north in the southbound lane. It’s believed that the driver, 58-year-old Anthony Williams, struck his car against a pickup truck and then a van. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Augusta Tries To Ease Detour Troubles

It’s the way to go to get around Walton Way construction, but the detour is taking 25,000-30,000 cars a day into the congested Medical College of Georgia area.
