Lawanda Concettes Tripp, 39, has been arrested, charged with the murder of 22-month-old Tearia Michele Hall. It happened on Avery Landing Drive…just off Belair Road. Terry Ramsey, 41, was shot and killed by Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies during a domestic situation on Metcalf Street, in downtown Augusta. The Georgia Board of Regents has filed a lawsuit against a private foundation for continuing to use the Medical College of Georgia’s name more than a year after the campus severed ties with the organization. The lawsuit filed Tuesday in Richmond County Superior Court demands that the Medical College of Georgia Foundation, Inc. stop using its moniker immediately and cease collecting donations on behalf of the state’s only public medical school. The Augusta-based medical school split from its $152 million foundation in June 2008 after years of feuding between the two institutions.

According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, a Greenwood, SC man died Sunday evening after a crash on I-20. Justin Ryan Heinz, 28, of Greenwood, was pronounced dead at Medical College of Georgia Sunday night around 9:27 p.m.
