A man has been arrested in Sylvania, Georgia in connection to a Tuesday night deadly hit and run in Richmond County. The man is identified as 62-year-old Willie David Bragg, Jr.
Edgefield County Rape Suspect Behind Bars After Leaving MCG
An Edgefield County man who was recovering at MCG after being involved in a car accident, is behind bars. Joseph Connell Williams, 41, is charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with minors.

School Budget Cuts… Here We Go Again
It’s a tough decision for local educators as they deal with more state budget cuts. Georgia sales tax collections are down and the state is sending less money to public schools and universities. Augusta Richmond County Superintendent Doctor Dana Bedden says despite this new cut, he was able keep jobs and not lay anyone off. This time he was able to get $4.4 million from the reserves. Augusta State, MCG Eye Furloughs, Layoffs
Furloughs and layoffs are likely at the Medical College of Georgia and Augusta State University to help cope with further state budget cuts. MCG has issued a response regarding the situation.

Augusta Leaders Recommend Going Out On Bonds For Augusta Priority S.P.L.O.S.T. Projects
They are the priority projects for the next phase of the special purpose local option sales tax, or S.P.L.O.S.T. Voters approved continuing the tax in june, but the city will not start collecting the money until fall of 2010. To avoid waiting, city leaders are recommending going out on bonds for some of the top priority projects.

Woman Dies In Highway 421 Accident In Aiken County
According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, a 75-year-old North Augusta woman has died in an accident on Highway 421, in Aiken County. Daisy May Ingram was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-car collision on Highway 421. Ingram was the unrestrained front seat passenger in a 2000 GMC Jimmy SUV driven by her granddaughter, Daphne Ingram, also of North Augusta.

Aiken County Murder Suspect Walks Out…Comes Back to MCG
An Aiken County murder suspect, who walked out of a hospital, Sunday night, walked back in…early Tuesday morning. Investigators say Terrance Riley was recovering at MCG after being shot during a home invasion. He left, and now he’s back…and this time, he’s guarded. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe has the story.

The search for a missing murder suspect is over. Authorities say 40-year-old Terrance Riley returned to the Medical College of Georgia hospital around 2:00 a.m., Tuesday morning.

UPDATED: Suspect In Deadly SC Home Invasion Escapes Hospital
The search for a suspect in a murder case continues. The suspect reportedly used a cigarette break to make a break for freedom. It started with a home invasion in Ridge Spring, South Carolina last week. Investigators say 40-year-old Terrance Riley is one of four men involved in the death of Jerry Tyler. Tyler was killed during the home invasion, and investigators say one of the other suspects accidentally shot Riley. And, ever since the invasion, Riley has been in the hospital, until this weekend. That’s where WJBF News channel 6’s Barclay Bishop picks up the story.
