3 People Arrested As Aiken County Narcotics Investigators Seize Approximately $49,000, Drugs

According to Sgt Dave Myers, on November 9, 2009 Aiken County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators arrested a Langley, S.C. man for multiple narcotics and firearm charges, a Beech Island, S.C. woman for narcotics charges, and a Warrenville, S.C. woman for possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspects are identified as Gerald Courson, 49, of Langley, SC; Lisa Smith, 38, of beech Island, SC; and Julie Hydrick, 23, of Warrenville, SC.

Three Month Probe Nets Multiple Aiken County Drug Arrests

According to Sgt. Dave Myers, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) has arrested seven people and is seeking three others on a variety of drug charges. The arrests and warrants come after a three-month probe.

UPDATE: Shooting Incident Leads To Drug, Weapons Arrests

A shooting incident on Shelby Drive in Augusta led investigators to make arrests on drug and weapons charges. It happened Saturday night after investigators say two men, visiting the home of Patricia and James Bowden on Shelby Drive, insulted and then shot at a couple next door. They left and investigators talked to the Bowdens about the incident. Inside they say they found drug equipment and weapons.  They arrested Patricia and James Bowden and are looking for the two men the Bowdens allege were visiting their home at the time of the shooting. The next door neighbor, Anthony Savoy, was shot in the hand.

Drug Arrests Made In Columbia County

According to Capt. Steve Morris, drug arrests were made Wednesday night by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. Capt. Morris says, shortly after 7:00 p.m., Wednesday night, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Washington Road at Davis Road in Martinez, GA. The people arrested are identified as 42-year-old Steven Curtis Newman, and his 36-year-old wife, Kimberly Lynn Newman.

According to Sgt. Blaise Dresser, three people have been arrested in connection to a robbery at Butler High School. The arrested suspects are identified as 17-year-old Angelo Pringle, and 18-year-old twin brothers, Markale and Marcus Robbinson.

The husband of a woman who caused a New York highway crash that killed eight people says she wasn’t a drinker. Daniel Schuler says a medical condition must have affected his wife, Diane, before she drove the wrong way on a highway north of New York City. She and seven others died in a fiery crash.

SC Authorities Seize $5 Million Worth Of Marijuana

South Carolina authorities have seized $5 million worth of marijuana plants that were growing in fields in a northern county. The ‘Herald of Rock Hill’ reported Wednesday that more than 2,500 plants, found in Chester County, have been confiscated and destroyed. No one has been arrested for growing the drug.

Oakland marijuana activists have taken a step toward asking California voters to legalize pot. The ballot measure they filed Tuesday with the California attorney general’s office would allow adults 21 and over to possess up to an ounce of pot.

Almost 200 people are facing charges after a weeklong crime sweep of Richmond County. According to the ‘Augusta Chronicle’, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies have been conducting street-level drug raids for the past seven days.
