Clearwater Fire Department Continues Serving, Despite Loss Of Chief And Two Others

The Clearwater Fire Department continues to answer calls, despite losing its chief and two others. Chief Mike Toole was fired by the Clearwater Water Commisioner. Earlier this week, Toole turned himself in, after a two-year old warrant for a misdemeaner surfaced at the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

Wendy’s/Arby’s posts $10.9 Million Loss In 1Q

Wendy’s/Arby’s Group says it posted a $10.9 million loss in the first-quarter as Arby’s sales fell and it took a one-time $15 million charge, in part, to integrate the two fast food chains. The quick-service restaurant chain lost 2 cents per share in the period. That compares to a loss of $67.5 million, or 73 cents per share, a year earlier.

Delta Reports $1.4 Billion 4Q Loss

Delta Air Lines lost $1.4 billion in the final three months of last year as it recorded a massive charge related to employee stock awards and wasn’t able to fully benefit from the decline in oil prices because of bad bets on fuel hedges.

Clemson’s Tommy Bowden Disappointed With Loss

Clemson coach Tommy Bowden says he’s as disappointed with the Tigers’ loss Saturday as many of the 80,000 or so who watched in person. But he said Monday his job is to go back to work and correct mistakes before Clemson’s next game Oct. 9 at No. 25 Wake Forest.
