Fox Creek High School Gets New Building
Time to go back to school, but they’re not going back…at least not to the old building. For the past five years, Fox Creek High School has been holding classes in an old video poker place. But no more, this year, they get a brand new building. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe takes us inside.

SC Legislature Overrides Payday Lending Rules Veto
The payday lending industry will face new regulations after the SC Legislature overrode Gov. Mark Sanford’s veto. The SC Senate overrode the veto with a 39-3 vote Tuesday, hours after the House did the same with a 105-4 vote.

All other banks are asked to give quarterly reports on small business loans. The Obama administration goes even further to ask banks that are not getting funds to increase small business lending. Plan Advances For SC Payday Lending Restrictions
A plan to put new restrictions on payday lending in South Carolina moved forward after a Senate subcommittee passed a bill Thursday morning. The House has already passed a payday lending bill, but senators adopted a tougher version that’s identical to a bill the full Senate passed last year. The House did not pass that bill. WJBF News Channel 6’s Capitol reporter, Robert Kittle, has more.
Bill To Restrict Payday Lending In SC Advances
Legislation to greatly restrict the payday lending industry in South Carolina is advancing. A Senate subcommittee Thursday approved a bill that requires a seven-day cooling off period between taking out the loans. It also restrictions the loans to a maximum of $600 or 25 percent of a borrower’s income.
