SC Lieutenant Governor Andre Bauer Announces $750,000 Grant To Aid Veterans
A $750,000 federal grant to the Lt. Governor’s Office on Aging will lead to a partnership with the Veterans Administration to provide more long-term-care health options for South Carolina’s 410,000 veterans, Lt. Governor André Bauer said Tuesday.

SC Misses Federal Aid For The Unemployed
Thousands of South Carolina’s unemployed will miss out on additional benefits after state officials failed to take the steps necessary to secure them. Unemployed residents could have received an additional seven weeks of emergency benefits, from federal stimulus money, if lawmakers had passed a law to temporarily change the index used to count the number of people out of work. South Carolina House Speaker Bobby Harrell says he wants Gov. Mark Sanford to resign. Harrell on Tuesday sent the governor a letter asking him to step down from office because of “constant distractions” Sanford has brought.

Governor Mark Sanford is issued a statement on Wednesday regarding the call for his resignation, Wednesday, from Lt. Governor Andre Bauer.
