A $750,000 federal grant to the Lt. Governor’s Office on Aging will lead to a partnership with the Veterans Administration to provide more long-term-care health options for South Carolina’s 410,000 veterans, Lt. Governor André Bauer said Tuesday.

Thousands of South Carolina’s unemployed will miss out on additional benefits after state officials failed to take the steps necessary to secure them. South Carolina House Speaker Bobby Harrell says he wants Gov. Mark Sanford to resign. Harrell on Tuesday sent the governor a letter asking him to step down from office because of “constant distractions” Sanford has brought.
