SC Lawmaker Expects Avondale Water Case To Go Before SC Supreme Court

Avondale water customers won’t have to pay those higher water bills, until at least October, but State Senator Shane Massey tells WJBF News Channel 6 he expects the company to appeal the decision to the South Carolina Supreme Court.

UPDATED: Judge Rules To Hold Graniteville Water Collections For Now

You’ve heard about those huge water bills residents of Graniteville, SC and Vaucluse, SC have been dealing with…well some of them have decided to ditch the Avondale water system altogether… by digging their own wells and installing septic systems. Law clerk Carra Henderson said Judge Jack Early ruled Tuesday that his previous decision approving the settlement would stand, but hasn’t filed an official order.

Judge gets proposed settlement in Brown’s estate

A proposed settlement to the legal battle surrounding the estate of James Brown includes a stipulation that Tomi Rae Hynie was the late soul singer’s fourth wife. The Augusta Chronicle reports that a summary of the proposed settlement was given to Judge Jack Early on Monday. The paper says the document also states that all children and grandchildren mentioned in Brown’s will are lawful heirs.
