A Jefferson County judge is temporarily off the job after he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Sheriff Gary Hutchins confirms that Magistrate Murray Bowman was charged with the felony but is out on bond.

WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that, on Thursday evening, August 6th, 2009 at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested 23 year-old Eddie Williams, Jr. without incident at his residence on Hudson Road, near Wadley, Georgia for the murder of his 52-year-old mother, Janice Williams, on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009.

A Jefferson County resident is arrested after shooting a man in the neck who was running from deputies.

A 16-year-old in Graysville has been taken into custody after shots were fired and the teeanger’s mother was killed. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Randy Christian says the shots were fired around 8:15 p.m. Sunday and deputies responded.
