Finally, it would appear that the James Brown estate case is nearing an end. Monday, family members presented a settlement proposal in court. So, is the “Godfather of Soul’s” family finally settling this battle? While the majority of the family says they’re ready to come to an agreement, it seems not everyone is singing the same tune.

A proposed settlement to the legal battle surrounding the estate of James Brown includes a stipulation that Tomi Rae Hynie was the late soul singer’s fourth wife. The Augusta Chronicle reports that a summary of the proposed settlement was given to Judge Jack Early on Monday. The paper says the document also states that all children and grandchildren mentioned in Brown’s will are lawful heirs.
