Aiken County Coroner: Suspect Was Aiming Gun At Officer When Killed

The Aiken County Coroner says autopsy results from a suspect shot to death by a police officer, Wednesday, show that suspect was aiming a gun when he was killed. Wednesday, Officer Andrew Keller, with the Jackson Police Department was called out to a bank robbery. Two suspects were taken into custody, one was killed. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe has the latest in the investigation.

A bank robbery in Aiken County Wednesday afternoon, ended with a standoff, shots fired, and one suspect dead. It all started in Jackson, South Carolina. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe has the story. UPDATE: We now have the autopsy results on the dead suspect, Jelani Edwards, from Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton.

UPDATED: Jackson, SC Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested After Standoff With Police

Investigators say one bank robbery suspect has been shot and another is still on the loose, in Jackson, SC. Aiken County Sheriff’s Investigators tell WJBF News Channel 6 that shortly before noon, three men robbed the First Citizens Bank, on Atomic Road, in Jackson, SC. Jackson police responded to the robbery and a chase ensued. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe reports that the third suspect sought in the Jackson, SC bank robbery has been arrested after a standoff with police at a house in Beech Island, SC with an AK-47. Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton tells us the suspect who was shot by police near Kimberly-Clark has died. We will add more information on this developing story as it develops.

10th Grader Brings Gun To Silver Bluff High School

According to Lt. Michael Frank, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with the Jackson Police Department, has arrested a 15-year-old Jackson boy, who brought a cap gun to Silver Bluff High School, on Tuesday. The unidentified student is charged with Disturbing Schools.
