SC Governor Mark Sanford Has $1.7 Million in Campaign Money, Can Use For Legal Bills
Governor Mark Sanford has $1.7 million left in campaign money… and he plans to use some of it to pay his legal bills. He’s being investigated by the South Carolina Ethics Commission for his travel and use of state planes. Some of his contributors are upset, but WJBF News Channel 6’s SC Capitol reporter, Robert Kittle, tells us why Governor Sanford, and any other candidate, can use campaign money for legal fees.

Augusta Under Microscope for ADA Violations
It’s a major civil rights law, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and audit teams from the U.S. Justice Department are in the Garden City to see if Augusta is following the law. Violations will need to be corrected at the city’s expense. WJBF News Channel 6’s George Eskola has the story.

UPDATED: Woman’s Body Found In Thomson, Georgia
A woman’s body has been found in Thomson, Georgia at the intersection of White Oak Road and Lincoln Drive. That’s in McDuffie County. Someone walking to work spotted the body, Wednesday morning, and called the GBI and McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office. The body, which was found in a ditch, is identified as Vicki Lynn Gunby. UPDATE: At this time, investigators do not believe Gunby died as a result of foul play.

Supporters are coming out to back Augusta Commissioner Betty Beard. Beard is being blasted for her role in a donation that paid for a city worker gastric bypass surgery. South Carolina House Speaker Bobby Harrell says he wants Gov. Mark Sanford to resign. Harrell on Tuesday sent the governor a letter asking him to step down from office because of “constant distractions” Sanford has brought.

TEE Stands For Trouble As Augusta City Leaders Questioned About Bribery
Augusta Commissioners confirm they are being questioned by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, concerning an an alleged attempt to bribe two Commissioners who voted against the TEE Center to change their votes.
