Police Standoff, Amber Alert Ends At Georgia Motel
A stand-off with a former Columbia police officer and authorities at a Georgia motel has ended. A man wearing body armor came out of the motel off Interstate 20 in Madison, Ga., around 9:30 Monday morning and put the infant into an ambulance. Moments later, the man thought to be the suspect was taken away.

A major fire at a West Augusta apartment complex injures one person. Flames swept through traditions of Augusta shortly before 7:30 a.m., Wednesday morning. Ramp To I-20 From Bobby Jones West Closes Tuesday Night; Detour Planned
According to a press release, the Georgia Department of Transportation, Scott Bridge Company, Inc., and United Contractors, Inc., announce the Bobby Jones Expressway west entrance ramp to Interstate Highway 20 west will close tonight and will be closed until further notice. A detour will be in place directing traffic to Scott Nixon Boulevard, Bobby Jones Expressway east, and then back to I-20 west.

Thousands Of Dollars Of Cocaine Seized In Richmond County Traffic Stop
According to Lt. Robert Partain, a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) traffic officer, around 9:15 a.m., Monday morning, stopped a Nissan Maxima on I-20 with South Carolina license plates for speeding in the construction zone. The car’s driver, Jorge Alberto Valladares, of Duluth, Georgia was arrested after 4 kilograms of cocaine were found in the vehicle.

One Person Dead In Thursday Night Accident On I-20
According to Richmond County’ Chief Deputy Coroner, Mark Bowen, one person is dead after an overnight accident on I-20, at mile marker 201, in Augusta. The accident occurred around 1:19 a.m., Thursday night.

UPDATED: Victim In Deadly I-20 Crash In Aiken County Identified
Traffic is moving again on I-20, in Aiken County…The westbound lanes between mile markers 6 and 7 were shut down around 9:00 p.m., Wednesday night, and remained closed for 10 hours, after a deadly three vehicle accident. The Aiken County Coroner, Tim Carlton, has identified the victim as Jose Hector Gonzales-Hernandez, 31, of North Charleston, SC.
