What if you didn’t have to pay for gasoline, again? South Carolina leaders say that day is here. Monday, two cars filled up in Aiken County…not with gasoline..but with hydrogen, at South Carolina’s first hydrogen fueling station. So, when will all of us be driving around in those cars? WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe hit the road, and found out.

South Carolina took a big step Monday that should lead to a lot of high-tech, high-paying jobs in the future. It opened two hydrogen fueling stations… that create a “Hydrogen Freeway” between Columbia and Aiken. WJBF News Channel 6’s Capitol reporter, Robert Kittle, tells us, we’re attracting attention from around the world.

A national conference on hydrogen technology has kicked off in Columbia.

The Savannah River Site is a fixture around these parts…but many people remember it as a place that housed nuclear materials and dealt with bombs during the Cold War. But these days, the site is all about clean-up…and they’re doing so much more for you and your future. Count on Joy Howe with this special report.
