8 Students Sent To Hospital After Columbia County School Bus Accident

A 20-year-old man is charged in a school bus accident that sent 8 students to the hospital, in Columbia County. About 6:45 a.m., Tuesday morning, authorities say William Pitts rear-ended school bus 966 on its way to drop off kids at Harlem Middle School And Harlem High School. The Columbia County School Transportation Department says the students’ injuries weren’t serious, most just needed to be checked out.

Police: TX Woman Accused Of Killing Newborn Ate Brain

A woman charged with murdering her 3-1/2-week-old son used a knife and two swords to dismember the child and ate parts of his body, including his brain, before stabbing herself in the torso and slicing her own throat, police said Monday. Otty Sanchez, 33, is charged with capital murder in the death of her infant son, Scott Wesley Buchholtz-Sanchez. She was recovering from her wounds at a hospital, and was being held on $1 million bail.

According to Lt. Scott Peebles, on Thursday afternoon, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges against 28-year-old Roger Antonio Bettis, of North Augusta, in reference to the June 3rd assault of a 63-year-old woman at MCG Hospital.

Wednesday, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) announced that they are offering a $2,000 reward for information which leads to the arrest of the man responsible for the June 3rd assault on the female victim at MCG Hospital. The assault occurred in the fourth floor women’s restroom.

Jay Leno Back On The Stage, Joking About His Illness

Jay Leno bounced back from an illness, returning to “Tonight” with jokes about swine flu, the 103-degree fever that sent him to the hospital and the armed guard he said kept him company. NBC posted security outside his hospital room after a man apparently pretending to be a Jesuit priest tried to enter, Leno said during the taping of Monday’s show.

Deer! They’re beautiful animals but they cause a lot of accidents every year, in Georgia. Early Thursday morning, Carl Green tried to avoid hitting a deer in Columbia County. Authorities say Green swerved while driving on Harlem-Grovetown Road, just west of Young Drive. Green’s currently in the hospital.

Official: Arkansas Doctor Responsive After Car Bombing

A doctor critically wounded in a bombing was awake and responsive Thursday morning after several overnight operations, a colleague said, citing the physician’s wife. Dr. Trent P. Pierce, chairman of the Arkansas State Medical Board, remained in critical but stable condition. His wife said he was able to respond to doctors, a day after a bomb in his driveway shattered the front of his Lexis hybrid and left him with severe wounds, according to Dr. Joseph Beck.
