It was 13 years to the day, Wednesday, since 3 North Augusta Department of Social Services workers were shot and killed at work. Those victims were honored Wednesday at the SC State Capitol. Wednesday evening, WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop talked with one supervisor who was inside the building when it all happened.

Remembering one of our own…Virigina Tech student and Lakeside High School alumnus Ryan Clark was killed during the massacre, two years ago. The “Mended Hearts” are a group of men and women who have gone through heart surgeries…survived…and lived to help others by offering support and community service. It turns out, a local chapter, in Aiken…is the best in the whole country. That’s right, out of 256 chapters all over America, the Aiken chapter was named number one in the nation.

3 Companies Fined For Atlanta Walkway Collapse

Federal authorities have cited and fined three metro Atlanta construction companies in connection with the collapse of a pedestrian walkway at the Atlanta Botanical Garden that killed one worker and injured another 18.

SC Honors Fallen Soldiers

South Carolina did something Wednesday we all wish there was no need for. State lawmakers honored the eight men from South Carolina who were killed in Afghanistan or Iraq, last year. WJBF News Channel 6’s Capitol reporter, Robert Kittle, was there Wednesday for the 2009 Fallen Soldiers Ceremony.
