You can’t ignore the numbers. On any given night across the country, 54,000 veterans are living on the streets. The number has gone down slightly in Georgia, but the problem still remains. WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop talked with 2 homeless vets who say, they’d serve all over again, but wish more people would help when they come home.

Nine homeless sex offenders directed to live in the woods behind a suburban Atlanta office park are scrambling to find new places to go after they were ordered to move.

A federal report shows Georgia’s large homeless population shrank between 2007 and 2008, but found there was not enough shelter space available statewide and more than half of Georgia’s homeless go unsheltered.

No more daily lunches for the homeless at city parks in Myrtle Beach. The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported that City Council voted 6-1 Tuesday to limit meals for the homeless in city parks to four times a year.

An overnight fire at an Augusta apartment complex causes major damage to two units…leaving families homeless. The fire happened at Cedar Grove Apartments on Richmond Hill Road. Fire crews got the call just before 11 p.m., Monday night.
