Greenbrier Student’s Death Shocks Community

The death of a Greenbrier High School senior has the community in a state of shock. The student, 17-year-old Scott Gillen, died Monday night while running at the high school’s track. Gillen’s death also comes as a shock to his Boy Scout leaders and troop, an organization he’s been faithful to since elementary school. WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop has more on the story.

Georgia junior first baseman Rich Poythress (Greenbrier HS/Grovetown, GA) was selected in the second round by the Seattle Mariners with the 51st overall pick in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Tuesday.

It is that time, again, when high school seniors are preparing to leave school and either enter the job market or move on to college. We would like to congratulate the CSRA high school seniors. A Greenbrier High School student has been arrested and charged with taking pictures with a cell phone up a teacher’s skirt. Curtis James Pickard, 17, has been charged with that crime.

Columbia County Woman Charged With Selling Designer Knockoffs

Grace Anderson, of Columbia County, was arrested Friday afternoon at her home in the Newland Subdivision, near Greenbrier High School.
