GA Supreme Court To Consider Malpractice Limits
Georgia’s top court is set to decide the fate of a 2005 law that limits pain and suffering damages awarded in medical malpractice cases. The Georgia Supreme Court is scheduled to hear a case Tuesday weighing the merits of a $350,000 limit on jury awards for malpractice victims’ pain and suffering.

GA Grand Jury Indicts Suspects In Vernon Forrest’s Slaying
A Fulton County grand jury has indicted three men accused in the killing of boxing champion Vernon Forrest. Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard says the three suspects were formally charged Tuesday in a 10-count indictment accusing them each of felony murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, armed robbery and other charges.

GA Woman Shot, Toddler Son Beaten
Police say a woman was shot and her 1-year-old son beaten during a home invasion in south Fulton County. Chattahoochee Hills police Chief Damon Jones says 22-year-old Nikki Neely was shot in the head during the attack just before 9 p.m. Monday. WSB radio reported that one person was in custody.

Waynesboro Murder Suspect Arrested In Fulton County
An accused killer will be brought back to Burke County to face charges of murdering a 16-year-old boy, two years ago. Stanley Howard will be brought back to Burke County on Saturday. He is accused of killing 16-year-old Damian Wright, in Waynesboro, back in August of 2007.

UPDATED: Police Charge BMW Driver In Atlanta Area 5-Person Fatal Wreck
Fulton County police say they have arrested and charged 22-year-old Aimee Michael, the BMW driver involved in a wreck that killed five people on Easter Sunday. Fulton police detective Melissa Parker says Michael was charged Thursday morning with five counts of homicide by vehicle, one count of failure to maintain lane and one count of serious injury by vehicle, hit and run.

5 Killed In Atlanta Area Crash Identified
Fulton County police have identified the victims in a multi-car crash that killed five, including an infant boy, near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The crash happened about 1:45 p.m. Sunday when a Mercedes traveling eastbound along Camp Creek Parkway crossed the median and hit a Volkswagen head-on.

Charges Dropped Against Rapper Lil Wayne
A Fulton County judge has dismissed felony drug charges against rapper Lil Wayne. The rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, was arrested in August 2006 at the Twelve Hotel. Atlanta police said they found unmarked bottles containing hydrocodone and a generic form of Xanax along with a small amount of marijuana.
