Some Burke County folks fighting to keep a road open have reached a compromise with commissioners.

Families living on Frank Farmer Road had fought to stop commissioners from closing the road permanently.

Families who live on Frank Farmer Road and people who use the road will have their first opportunity to speak out against the closing of a mile and half portion of the road. In November, Commissioners voted unanimously to close the road but admit it needs to post a legal ad in the paper. Count on Renita Crawford to bring you the latest in this developing story.

Fight between citizens and Burke County officials continues over Frank Farmer Road.

A portion of Frank Farmer Road in Burke County is closed to allow a property owner to install an irrigation system.  But neighbors say they weren’t notified of the closing and will have to go miles out of the way to get Wadley or Louisville.
