SC Man, Woman Found Dead On Dirt Road
Police are investigating the deaths of a South Carolina man and woman whose bodies were found along a dirt road in a wooded area. Multiple media outlets reported that the bodies of 32-year-old Talya Poston and 26-year-old Bill Hall were found Tuesday in Florence County. Police think they were shot.

Report: SC Utility To Drop Coal-Fired Power Plant
State-owned utility Santee Cooper is expected to drop plans for a controversial coal-fired power plant in South Carolina. The State newspaper of Columbia reported Monday that the utility’s board is expected to ratify a committee’s earlier vote to suspend efforts to secure permits for the Florence County plant.

SC Father Charged With Killing Son Appears Before Judge
A Coward man accused of gunning down his son over the weekend appeared before a judge Monday morning. Florence County Coroner “Bubba” Matthews says Dominic Lewis, 22, of Railroad Avenue was shot sometime Saturday night in the lower back of the head and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

SC State Trooper Dies In House Overnight Fire
In an e-mail to WJBF News Channel 6, the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) announces that a trooper has died overnight in a house fire at his residence. Senior Trooper Andrew C. McInville, 26, died around 1 a.m. after a fire at his Timmonsville, SC home, located on Country Lane Road.

Environmental Group Wants SC Power Plant Dumped
An environmental group is appealing state permits issued to build a coal-fired power plant in eastern South Carolina. The Southern Environmental Law Center says state environmental regulators used bad data when they gave Santee Cooper air quality permits to build the plant in Florence County.
