Alabama Governor Warns Utility On Water Feud With Georgia
Alabama Gov. Bob Riley is warning utility giant Southern Co. to stay out of the region’s tri-state water war. In a letter to company CEO David Ratcliffe Wednesday, Riley said he was surprised to learn that the head of Southern subsidiary Georgia Power was leading a Georgia “impact team” formed by Gov. Sonny Perdue to work on the state’s strategy in the dispute, including lobbying Congress.

Georgia Has Spent $6 Million On Tri-State Water Wars
The Georgia attorney general’s office says the state has spent more than $6 million for outside attorneys to fight a water war with bordering states.

UPDATED: Missing Augusta Woman, Husband Found Dead In Alabama
Investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office tell WJBF News Channel 6 that a woman, who was last seen on Saturday, has been found dead in Alabama. The bodies of Jessica Lynn Murphy, 30, and her estranged husband, 37-year-old Scott Dean “Scottie” Murphy, were reportedly found at a rest stop near Evergreen, Alabama.

Mayfield Recalls Possibly Contaminated Ice Cream
Mayfield Dairy Farms has announced it is recalling containers of its Mayfield Homemade Vanilla Select Ice Cream because of possible ammonia contamination. The Birmingham-based company said the voluntary recall is for 1.5-quart containers of the ice cream. Ammonia contamination can cause headache, nausea, vomiting and irritation of the throat.
