The S.C. Department of Corrections is searching for an inmate who walked away from the minimum security Coastal Pre-Release Center in Charleston, on Monday. Vernon Edward Gardner, 42, was discovered missing from the institution about 12:30 p.m.

UPDATED: Escaped Columbia, SC Inmate Captured
Apprehension efforts are underway for a minimum security inmate missing from Campbell Pre-Release Center in Columbia. David Edwards, 23, was last seen at his work assignment at the Columbia Farms poultry plant in West Columbia, about 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
UPDATED: Escaped Inmate Captured In Aiken County
According to Josh Gelinas, the communications director for the South Carolina Department of Corrections the search is on for a minimum security inmate who walked away from Lower Savannah Pre-Release Center, in Aiken. Patrick Frazier, 22, was confirmed missing from the minimum security institution on Wire Road at 11:50 p.m. Thursday. UPDATE: Frazier has turned himself into the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

Search Continues For Escaped Burke County Inmate
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office needs assistance from the public in locating a inmate, which was a trustee, that walked away from a work detail Tuesday morning. The inmate, 44-year-old Jerry Lee Jones, who is 5’9” tall, weighing 135 lbs., was last wearing a white shirt and pants with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office on the back of the shirt.

SC Inmate Recaptured 7 Months After Escape
Authorities say they’ve recaptured a South Carolina inmate that walked away from a work detail seven months ago. WSPA-TV in Spartanburg reported Friday that Rahmad Norman is back in custody. He faces several charges for his escape, including resisting arrest.

SC Inmate Recaptured After Walking Off Job
A South Carolina inmate who walked away from his job at a poultry plant in Dillon has been recaptured. The Corrections Department said 41-year-old James McCracken was captured around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday while hiding under a bridge near Galivants Ferry. They say McCracken left the Perdue Farms plant Tuesday afternoon.

SC Inmate Captured At Mom’s House On Mother’s Day
An inmate who escaped a South Carolina prison was recaptured on Mother’s Day, at mom’s house. The State reported that 26-year-old Dustin Fleming escaped from the Campbell Pre-Release Center in Columbia early Sunday.
