We have results from some of the Two-State’s major political races from Tuesday’s elections.

Republican John McCain claimed Georgia’s 15 electoral votes, beating back Democrat Barack Obama’s drive to turn the GOP stronghold blue. The win in Georgia was bittersweet. McCain already has conceded defeat to Obama, who’s now White House bound. But GOP Senator Saxby Chambliss wasn’t strong enough to avoid a runoff election.  He finished with less than 50% of the vote.

Barack Obama addressed nearly 125,000 people at Chicago’s Grant Park about an hour after his projected victory. He told the crowd his victory proves that America is a place where all things are possible. He also commended John McCain.

Barack Obama is vowing to be a president for all of America, even those who voted against him.

Democrats have retained control of the House and are headed for big gains in their majority.

South Carolina voters have removed from the state constitution a long-ignored provision about the age of consent for sex.

Republican John McCain concedes the presidential race to Barack Obama, saying the Democrat has achieved a “great thing” for himself and the country with his historic victory.
