Edgefield County Man Arrested In North Augusta Armed Robbery
According to a release, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office, arrested an Edgefield, SC man, Wednesday night, concerning the armed robbery that occurred at 1186 Edgefield Road, in North Augusta, SC, on April 15, 2009. The suspect is identified as Rickey Brunson, 52, of 68 Se Diggs Road, in Trenton, SC. Brunson is charged with Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime, and Armed Robbery.

Edgefield County Burglaries Slowing Down After Suspect’s Arrest
Edgefield investigators say, for the first time in about two months, burglaries in the southside area appear to be slowing down. About $200,000 worth of stuff have been reported stolen from home- and business-owners since April. Last week, officers arrested Robert Webber.

Edgefield County Suspect Charged With Several Burglaries
Edgefield County investigators have identified the man arrested Wednesday in connection to several burglaries in the county. The suspect is identified as Anthony Webber. He’s being charged in connection with some of the recent burglaries the southern side of the county’s been seeing.

Neighbor Catches Edgefield County Burglar
In Edgefield, South Carolina there could be a big break after an arrest in a burglary case…several burglary cases, in fact. Girl Scouts See No “Merit” in Getting Rid of Camp C
Some Aiken Girl Scouts are lost in the woods as to why their beloved camp is up for sale. For years, they have trekked up to Edgefield County to a retreat for overnight camping trips. 16 Less Edgefield County Teaching Positions For 2009-2010 School Year
School districts face a Friday deadline for handing out teacher contracts for 2009-10. The Legislature gave officials an extra month this year to make their re-hiring decisions. But with Gov. Mark Sanford still refusing $185 million in federal money for kindergarten-through-12th-grade education, many districts are playing it safe and passing budgets without the funds. WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that 16 teaching positions have been eliminated in Edgefield County.

Storm Damage Reported In Edgefield County, Tornado Warnings Issued
WJBF News Channel 6 has received reports of large trees being downed in Edgefield County. We have also received reports of large hail in Johnston, South Carolina. We are awaiting word on if there is any damage in Saluda County. Let us know if you see or receive storm damage. Strong weather will continue to move through the CSRA Friday night, and should clear up by Saturday morning.
