Edgefield County Woman Reported Missing

Edgefield County Investigators are looking for a woman who has been reported missing by her family. Angela Kim Hatfield, 42, from Johnston, was last seen around 7:45 a.m., Friday morning. She was last seen driving a gold 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche with SC tag AVC 731. Whe was last seen wearing a t-shirt and blue jean shorts.

Edgefield County Burglary Suspect Arrested

The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office tells WJBF News Channel 6 a man is behind bars in Edgefield County, accused of burglarizing a home there. Dexter Williams, 22, is charged with Second Degree Burglary.

Suspects Sought In Edgefield Shooting

Edgefield County officers are looking for 2 people in connection with a late night shooting. It happened Saturday night at the Edgewood Apartments, on W.A. Reel Drive. That’s just behind the Edgefield Hospital. Officers say a man was going into his apartment, when he was approached by two men wearing ski masks.

UPDATE: Fight Injures Four, Leads To Lockdown At Federal Correction Institution In Edgefield

UPDATE: Four inmates at the federal prison in Edgefield County were taken away for medical attention following a fight, according to prison officials.  The Federal Correction Institution in Edgefield is currently on lockdown while the prison investigates.  Earlier in the day, multiple ambulances and helicopters were sent to the facility.

UPDATE: Search For 2 Bodies In Augusta Suspended

There’s new information on the search for the possibility of 2 female bodies on Cherry Street in Augusta. The location is right off of Washington Road behind Longhorn Steakhouse.  The search started Wednesday after a tip from someone who investigators say “wanted to clear their conscience” about something that may have happened some 10 years ago. WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop has the latest.

Fox Creek High School Gets New Building

An Edgefield County man who was recovering at MCG after being involved in a car accident, is behind bars. Joseph Connell Williams, 41, is charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with minors.

UPDATED: DHEC Tells Edgefield County To Stop Dumping, Clean Up Trash Immediately

An update on a story we brought you Monday…DHEC had an investigator at the site Monday and will have someone back Tuesday. The agency will need to decide if Edgefield County Schools can continue to use some of the land on district property to dump and burn trash. UPDATE: DHEC has told the Edgefield County to stop dumping and clean up the trash, immediately. It’s not a landfill with permits, so they can’t do what they’re doing.

A local school district is defending itself after our news partners at EdgefieldDaily.com got a tip about possible illegal dumping behind J.E.T. Middle School. UPDATED: Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office Car Crashes, Burns

According to EdgefieldDaily.com, an Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office Deputy responding to a call of a wreck on Republican Road lost control of his patrol car, hit an embankment, and reportedly was ejected from the car as it burst into flames. An ambulance responding to the first wreck happened upon the deputy lying on the side of the road and began treating him for his injuries. UPDATE: The deputy has now been released from MCG and is resting at home.
