Seven SC Officers Worked Without Driver’s License

South Carolina Public Safety director Mark Keel says seven officers have been suspended for working while their driver’s licenses were suspended. The State reported the agency investigated after the newspaper filed a Freedom of Information Act request for the driving records for Senior Trooper John McGaha and reported his license had been suspended.

Bill Would Require SC Voters To Show Photo ID

Republicans say voters would have to have a photo IDs to prove who they are before heading to the voting booth. A House subcommittee will discuss requiring that type of identification Wednesday.

Thousands Of Dollars Of Cocaine Seized In Richmond County Traffic Stop

According to Lt. Robert Partain, a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) traffic officer, around 9:15 a.m., Monday morning, stopped a Nissan Maxima on I-20 with South Carolina license plates for speeding in the construction zone. The car’s driver, Jorge Alberto Valladares, of Duluth, Georgia was arrested after 4 kilograms of cocaine were found in the vehicle.

Jury Can’t Reach Verdict In Britney Spears Case

Britney Spears’ driver’s license case has been declared a mistrial. A jury foreman announced that the panel failed to agree after four votes about whether the singer was guilty of driving without a valid driver’s license, a misdemeanor. Jurors got the case Friday morning and the stalemate was announced on Tuesday. They deliberated more than eight hours.

Jury selection has begun in Britney Spears’ driver’s license case. The first slate of potential jurors arrived Wednesday morning at the San Fernando Valley courtroom where Spears’ case will be heard.
