The GBI is investigating after a shooting in downtown Augusta following a domestic dispute. Terry Ramsey, 41, was shot and killed by Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies during a domestic situation on Metcalf Street, in downtown Augusta. UPDATE: The two deputies involved in the shooting have been identified as Deputy Chadwick Plueger and Deputy Sylvester Rosier.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office deputy who was handling the Sanford Nimmo child sex case investigation is out of a job. Mark Patterson is charged with unlawful use of a telephone.

Investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office are in front of a home on Danvers Avenue, in the Pepperidge Subdivision, in Augusta, as a man is refusing to leave his home following a domestic dispute. Deputies believe he has access to weapons in the home and they are cautiously trying to convince him to leave, peacefully. UPDATE: The standoff has ended peacefully. According to Lt. Troy Elwell, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) is looking for a man, who on November 29th, kicked in the door to his girlfriends residence, pointed a shotgun at her, then turned and fired two rounds into her vehicle that was parked in front of the residence. The victim retrieved a handgun and fired several rounds at the subject, who then fled the scene.

Former “Soul Train” host Don Cornelius has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. Police say officers were called to his Hollywood Hills home late Friday after someone reported a domestic dispute.
