University of Connecticut Coach Says 2 Teammates With Football Player During Deadly Stabbing
One teammate performed first aid while another comforted a University of Connecticut football player who was fatally stabbed during a fight outside a school-sanctioned dance over the weekend, their coach said Monday. Coach Randy Edsall wouldn’t identify the teammates or say how many players witnessed the fight that led to the death of 20-year-old Jasper Howard, a native of Miami.

Augusta Man Stabs Pitbull To Death
Police say a mentally ill Augusta man stabbed a pit bull to death. The dog belonged to him and his mother.

Augusta Man To Spend Rest Of Life In Prison For Deadly Columbia County Home Invasion
An Augusta man will spend the rest of his life in prison plus 45 years for a deadly home invasion. A Columbia County jury found 20-year-old Patrick Antwon Booker guilty of numerous charges including burglary, armed robbery, and kidnapping…but they found him not guilty of murder.

It was two years ago, in October, that an Edgefield man shot and killed his wife and stepdaughter, before turning the gun on himself. One Person Dies In Columbia County House Fire
A deadly house fire happened in Columbia County, Thursday morning. The blaze broke out around 4:30 a.m., at a house on the 900 block of Windmill Lane…that’s in Windmill Plantation, in Evans. WJBF News Channel 6’s Fraendy Clervaud has more.

Charismatic Pofessional Wrestler Captain Lou Albano Dies
Captain Lou Albano, the charismatic professional wrestler who appeared in Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” video, has died. He was 76. World Wrestling Entertainment confirmed the death Thursday on its Web site.

Columbia County Student Dies From Complications Of Swine Flu
There’s new information on the death of a Columbia County girl from the flu. Columbia County Coroner Vernon Collins comfirms Tuesday evening she died from complications of the Swine Flu, on Saturday. This death has some parents asking questions about H1N1 and seasonal flu. WJBF News Channel 6’s Fraendy Clervaud has the story.

A 10-year old child from Columbia County has died from the flu. Columbia County Coroner Vernon Collins confirms Summer Rockefeller died early Saturday morning at an Atlanta hospital from complications of the flu, possibly swine flu. We have information for those wishing to donate to the family.

Greenwood, SC Man Dies At MCG After Aiken County Crash
According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, a Greenwood, SC man died Sunday evening after a crash on I-20. Justin Ryan Heinz, 28, of Greenwood, was pronounced dead at Medical College of Georgia Sunday night around 9:27 p.m.

Soldier At Fort Jackson Dies Of Heatstroke
A soldier at Fort Jackson has died after collapsing during a physical fitness test. The Army says 19-year-old Private Jamal Britt, from Edgewood, MD, died Wednesday evening at Providence Northeast Hospital. WJBF News Channel 6’s SC Capitol reporter Robert Kittle, and Joseph Kasko, have more.
