Investigators At The Scene Of Augusta Hotel Fire

Investigators are back at the scene of an early Friday morning hotel fire. It happened at the Days Inn, located on Deans Bridge Road, near and Meadowbrook Drive. The fire did some heavy damage to part of the hotel. There’s no word yet of any injuries. Crews are checking for hot spots. The cause remains under investigation. Williston Church Needs Help To Repair Weather Damage

The Williston Church Of God is building a brand new youth center…but it’s been a slow-going process because money is tight. But, their old building got hit by some wet weather…the roof caved in, and it had to be demolished. The church needs help to get the repairs done. Number Of Damaged Cars In Atlanta Collapsed Deck Now 45

Firefighters have found more damaged cars than originally thought but found no victims as they reached the ground floor in their search of the collapsed parking deck in Midtown Atlanta.

No Injuries, Deaths Found Among Atlanta Parking Deck Rubble

There is some relief for crews who are searching through the rubble of a midtown Atlanta parking deck that collapsed. The parking deck fell on Monday, around lunchtime….and after days of searching, they are almost certain noone’s been trapped inside. The parking deck’s owner tells an Atlanta TV station that the collapse was caused by a support beam falling from place.

Residents Ask Why Horry County Fire Warnings Took So Long

South Carolina residents who were forced from their homes by a wildfire want to know why it took officials so long to warn them. The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported Sunday that homeowners are asking why officials were caught by surprise by fires which had been raging for a day, and why they gave residents just minutes to evacuate.

Barefoot Resort’s Love Course To Reopen Monday

A Grand Strand course that suffered damage from April’s wildfire will reopen next week. Officials at the Barefoot Resort & Golf said that a course designed by PGA Tour pro Davis Love III will open Monday.

Goodwill Needs Your Donations to Replace Items Destroyed By Aiken Fire

Goodwill Industries’ Whiskey Road Emporium in Aiken suffered extensive damage during a fire, on Friday. Over 20,000 items of clothing and household items were damaged during the fire that broke out just before 7:00 p.m. The Aiken Department of Public Safety responded promptly to the call, and all Goodwill clients, employees and customers escaped safely before the first firefighter arrived. Goodwill is asking for donations to replace the items lost in the fire.

8 Counties Added To Georgia Disaster Declaration

Gov. Sonny Perdue says eight additional Georgia counties have been granted federal disaster status, making them eligible for aid to help them repair damage from storms that began in late March.

Governor Sanford: Federal Aid Unlikely for Aiken Tornado Victims

Tornado victims in Aiken County took a break from sorting through the rubble, Monday, as the rain fell. But Tuesday morning, they were back out, digging through their belongings, and they were joined by South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe has the story.
