SC Supreme Court Lifts Avondale Water Rates Injunction
It’s another blow for Avondale Mills water customers. The South Carolina Supreme Court has lifted an injunction put into place by the Circuit Court. The injunction said customers couldn’t be charged the new water rates until they were given notice.

Agreement Signed To Take Over Graniteville Water And Sewer System
Things continue to flow in the Graniteville water takeover…Monday, Valley Public Service Authority (VPSA) officials signed papers, beginning the transition process of taking over the water and sewer responsibilities from Avondale, Inc.

UPDATED: Judge Rules To Hold Graniteville Water Collections For Now
You’ve heard about those huge water bills residents of Graniteville, SC and Vaucluse, SC have been dealing with…well some of them have decided to ditch the Avondale water system altogether… by digging their own wells and installing septic systems. But, they’re running into a problem with the state…WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe explains. UPDATE: Judge Jack Early has ruled to hold Graniteville water collections, for now. He said he hopes to rule on the case by Friday.

Augusta Garbage Fees Are Going Up
Garbage fees are going up in Augusta. Residents had been paying $287 a year, but now will see an increase of $9.50, making the fee $296.50.

Customers Upset About Gibson, GA Bank Closing With No Warning
Another Georgia bank is being seized by the FDIC. Earlier this month, Freedom Bank of Georgia was shut down. Those locations became branches of Northeast Georgia Bank. Now, FirstCity Bank is the latest to be taken over by the government. There are three branches in the peach state, including one about 50 miles away, in Gibson…that’s in Glascock County, southwest of Thomson. WJBF News Channel 6’s Sheena Bodie has the story.
