According to Sgt. Dave Myers, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) has arrested seven people and is seeking three others on a variety of drug charges. The arrests and warrants come after a three-month probe.

DJ AM had prescription pills in his stomach and one in his throat when police found him dead in his apartment, a New York City official said Wednesday. The official told The Associated Press that six pills were found in the celebrity disc jockey’s stomach and that the pill in his throat appeared to be the powerful painkiller OxyContin.

Arrests are expected soon in a developing drug case in Aiken…earlier this week, investigators executed a search warrant in Augusta and seized cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana.

According to Lt. David Turno, a traffic stop in Aiken leads Aiken Department of Public Safety officers to cash, drugs and a weapon. Two men were taken into custody, late Tuesday, during an arrest at the corner of Plunkett Avenue and Rogers Terrace.
